Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Mavo platform — including the Mavo app, website, and associated services (Mavo Go, Mavo Rent, and Mavo Delivery) — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into a legally binding agreement under Rwandan law to use Mavo services. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. Our Services

• Mavo Go: On-demand electric ride-hailing. Mavo Mobility acts as a technology platform connecting riders with independent drivers.
• Mavo Rent: Self-drive EV rental by the day, week, or month. Users take on responsibility for the vehicle during the rental period.
• Mavo Delivery: Last-mile delivery using electric vehicles and motorcycles. Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary.

4. User Responsibilities

• Provide accurate registration and payment information.
• Use services only for lawful purposes in compliance with Rwandan law.
• Not damage, misuse, or attempt to circumvent the Mavo platform or its vehicles.
• For Mavo Rent: return vehicles in the same condition as received, fully charged (or as agreed).
• Not use the platform under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.

5. Payments & Cancellations

All payments are processed through the Mavo app via mobile money (MTN, Airtel) or card. Pricing is displayed before confirmation. Cancellation fees may apply if a booking is cancelled after a driver or vehicle has been dispatched, as detailed in the app.

Refunds, where applicable, are processed within 5–7 business days to the original payment method.

6. Limitation of Liability

Mavo provides a technology platform and is not liable for incidents arising between users and drivers or delivery partners. For Mavo Rent, users are responsible for any damage to vehicles during the rental period beyond normal wear and tear. Mavo Mobility's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the service in question.

7. Termination

Mavo reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or repeated safety incidents. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Mavo platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Kigali, Rwanda.
